Tips for Managing Multiple Windows in Windows 10
Windows 10 has features to help you work with multiple windows. These features make multitasking easier.
Snap
Snap helps you resize windows quickly. You can place two windows side by side.
- Click and drag a window to the left or right edge of the screen.
- Release the mouse, and the window will snap into place.
- If you have another open window, Windows will suggest snapping it to the other side.
- To unsnap, click and drag the window down.
Flip
Flip lets you switch between open windows easily.
- Press and hold the Alt key.
- Press the Tab key to cycle through open windows.
- Release the keys when you reach the window you want.
Task View
Task View works like Flip but shows all open windows at once.
- Click the Task View button on the taskbar (bottom-left).
- Or press Windows key + Tab on your keyboard.
- Click any window to open it.
Virtual Desktops
Virtual desktops help you organize your workspace. You can move windows to separate desktops.
Creating a Virtual Desktop:
- Open Task View.
- Click New Desktop (bottom-right).
Switching Desktops:
- Open Task View and select a desktop.
Moving Windows Between Desktops:
- Open Task View.
- Drag a window to another desktop.
Closing a Virtual Desktop:
- Open Task View and click X on the desktop you want to close.

If many windows are open, you can quickly see the desktop.
- Click the bottom-right corner of the taskbar.
- This will minimize all windows.
- Click the same spot again to restore them.
