It happens fast. You hit Send, then spot a typo, a wrong recipient, or worse—an email you should never have sent.

Gmail’s Undo Send feature can save you. It lets you take back an email within up to 30 seconds of sending it. But you must turn it on first.
Turn on Undo Send:
- Open Gmail.
- Click the gear icon in the top-right, then select Settings.
- In the General tab, scroll to Undo Send.
- Check Enable Undo Send. Choose a cancel time between 5–30 seconds.
- Scroll down and click Save Changes.
Use Undo Send:
After you send an email, a small pop-up will appear at the bottom left. Click Undo before the timer ends. The message will re-open so you can fix or delete it.
