Inserting online pictures

If you don't have the picture you want on your computer, you can find a picture online. PowerPoint offers two main options:

  • Bing Image Search: Search the Internet for images. By default, it shows images licensed under Creative Commons, meaning you can generally use them for your own projects.
  • Choosing a picture to insert
  • OneDrive: Insert an image stored on your cloud storage. You can also link other accounts like Facebook or Flickr.

Moving and resizing pictures

Once you've inserted a picture, you can easily move it or change its size to better fit your slide layout.

To resize:

Click and drag the corner sizing handles. Using the corners preserves the aspect ratio, preventing the image from looking stretched or distorted.

Resizing a picture

The corner sizing handles will resize a picture while preserving its original aspect ratio. If you use the side sizing handles, the image will become distorted.

To rotate:

Click and drag the circular arrow above the image. Hold the Shift key while rotating to snap the image to 15-degree increments.
