Pictures can make your slides more engaging and easier to understand. In PowerPoint, you can insert images from your computer, find online pictures, or even take screenshots.
Insert a Picture from Your Computer

Go to the Insert tab and click Pictures in the Images group.
- In the dialog box, locate and select your image file.
- Click Insert.
Your picture will appear on the selected slide. You can also use a content placeholder to insert it directly.

Insert an Online Picture
If the image is not on your computer, you can search online or use your OneDrive.
Steps:
- Go to the Insert tab and click Online Pictures.
- Choose Bing Image Search or OneDrive.
- Search for the image and press Enter.
- Select an image and click Insert.
Tip: Bing filters images under Creative Commons by default, but check the source site for usage rights before adding them.

Move, Resize, and Rotate Pictures
- Select: Click the image. A border will appear around it.
- Resize: Drag a corner handle to keep proportions. Side handles may distort the image.
- Rotate: Drag the rotation arrow above the picture. Hold Shift to snap in 15° steps.
- Move: Click and drag the image to a new spot.
- Delete: Select the picture and press Delete or Backspace.
Insert a Screenshot
Screenshots can capture your screen or part of it.
Full Window Screenshot:

Go to the Insert tab, click Screenshot.
- Choose a window from the Available Windows list.
- The screenshot appears on your slide.

Go to Insert > Screenshot > Screen Clipping.
- Select the area you want to capture.
- The clipped image appears on your slide.
Adding visuals in PowerPoint is simple and improves the way your audience connects with your content. Use images wisely, keep them clear, and make sure you have the rights to use them.
